Updates (May 25, 2026) Part 6

Holy moly … The want and need of some Vietnamese to stay or go overseas.

In 2015-2016, I stayed for around 6 months.

I got introduced to my cousins from Aunt #6.

What did I learn?

You can study and do this and that really.

But some people think it is better to study outside Vietnam sometimes. For the environment I guess.

Back in 2015 in An Giang, I felt the reason for living was to harness the natural resources of Vietnam and pave everything and sell food and beer and some manufacturing capacity in the hot heat.

Japan is a marker for everything in Vietnam?

Some kids want to mimic Japan and some want to move there.

Then what is the point of Vietnam?

A physically ‘hot temperature’ destination?

I really believe Vietnamese can study and do everything as an adult in 2015.

The main problem I felt for me is that push to improve or wanting to improve because … of me.

Maybe my environment and frequency of Vietnam dissuades me to improve?

There is a balance?

If Vietnam becomes like Japan, there is no Vietnam … it is simple like that.

Whatever Vietnam is know for is gone if everything is replaced by a Japanese equivalent.

There are so many good things about Vietnam and being Vietnamese.

So the idea of copying Japanese and Korean soft power is wrong.

Vietnam has it good things and bad things but will always be Vietnam for the most part.

The over saturated thing about Vietnam is the weather. The climate determines how everything is.

You can not stay in VINCOM plaza all day soaking up the AC and LED lights. You must step outside.

You come for the outside street food and red plastic stools.

You come for the crazy high caffeinated coffee for $1-2.

You bask in the sun and humidity that is getting worse and worse every year because of globalization/global warming.

You crank up the room AC wishing the hot humid weather would let up.

You install solar panels to save power in 2024 halving your electricity bill while saving the environment.
