If your parents own land, houses and farms back home in Vietnam you are basically not fit. This is the case most of the time.

It is good to experience education, work and life overseas. But at the end it draws to your passions and if you can support yourself individually. Everyone is unique and has unique passions mostly in 2026.

In 2015- 2016, I met a family with multiple income streams and multiple children who went overseas for work and some stayed.

If your parents say to you, you must earn your keep and prove it by doing school and working for 5 years, that might make you work hard.

But the most important thing is how you will live alone after your parents die and you can not live with your siblings.

As a 35 year old man in 2020, I decided to YOLO and go all in computer programming. I can not fathom living with my siblings till I am 90 years old with some kind of illness.

Vietnamese in the West

You have two personalities when you are born here. Because of the gradient you may find yourself selling food still as a 2nd generation.

What do you do?

You study the trauma and passions you have. Give yourself an extra 15+ years to get out of poverty after university and make a name for yourself on the Internet without the physical gradient bothering you if you can.

You prove you through mind and spirit and NOT body.

That is how it is and how cruel it is in the West???

That is life in the West really.

Vietnamese people that are full South Vietnamese are seen as dark, negative void and ugly people.

So the only solution is to use your brain and surround yourself with like minded Vietnamese like you.

You can only choose one: ‘Looks’ or ‘Brain’ really to have a safe stable well adjusted lowest cortisol life.

I can not really explain it.

Choose brains entirely for the life I have at the moment.

Some Vietnamese from the West move back to Vietnam.

What does that solve? Only relationship issues which is crucial and needed for normal growth. You definitely need a relationship, so do go back to Vietnam and be yourself to see what is available. God will find you a girlfriend/wife if you keep good.

The thing is that your age, where you come from matters but doesn’t matter at the end.

I was just older than most and had experiences after middle age experiences with work and life.

To solve the main problematic issue is to have the education and also the network and experiences over 15+ years in the West to connect to people and group up. 15 years+. This is incredibly hard as you turn really old after hitting middle age. The point is to ‘Hit the wall’.

If you are young and outgoing and need experiences then groups like these are good for now and you can live but … age and experiences matter over many areas and fields if you want it a certain way …

You can not run away from the Western system though entirely … but you can.

In 2016, I was back in Vietnam eating xôi (sticky rice with mung beans with toppings). The second lady xôi seller told me, “Yes, that is life” as I questioned and reflected. You can live life selling xôi for decades and make enough profit for the day or you can make a growing business. It is 50:50 after 30 years old.

But Americas, will always draw you back because it is a mammoth in comparison to your elephant.

You must accept differences between East and West, but also the time period when you are old at middle age where everything is falling apart in your body. And the only thing left is making good business for the economy not centered on you. The key is to build after middle age for the country’s economy and not for your needs as you are old now.
