WESTERN MINDED

This is what happened.

When I was in Vietnam for 6 months, Vietnam was split.

I was going to teach English soon and was met with this scenario.

Kids from all over Long Xuyen wanted to get the best lessons in English to prepare themselves for the world overseas in UK, USA, Canada and Austrailia.

All attention was placed on learning how to communicate with HR, Top executives and company people in Fortune 500 companies.

No time to waste. Each lesson had to be Top ‘Oxford’ Learning Quality. Mesmerize the mind and think more. Make thinking attractive and alluring and puzzling.

People who moved to Vietnam to find work like the Chinese were trying to maximize their savings to afford assets.

The cousins who never left Vietnam because of ‘x’ reasons, told me, life is terrible in Vietnam. Raising a family is terrible. Always trying to find money and make money. But I guess it is still livable. You just have to wake up and do.

Parents of cousins (Uncles and Aunts) told me that life is whatever. You can live here or there. Money is just tight.

But during 2015-2016, making money seemed similar to making money in the West. Just as hard and almost the same amount.

What was I losing working in Vietnam.

I did not have the support and constant tear down of the Western system through its diverse people.

In North America, life is determined by skin colour and sometimes race and nationality. At the end it boils down to nationality and looks and personality.

If your origin country is too corrupted and is not associated with the West then you got problems.

What did I have in the West?

Nothing much because I am pigeon-holed as a dark, negative-void, Southeast Asian gangster person in Oshawa while working with young people in retail and services which is normal in life in North America. It is expected for a guy like me. But everyone is a gangster really in the modern North American era. So am I being stupid ??? Yes.

But in doing my passions, I got pulled into coding as that is the thinking that is left.

So in my field with the ‘Canadians’, all that I have to do is work in coding till I die.
