What changed in 2019 – 2020?
What really made me go and change my life to focus on studying and accepting the way things generally are?
- I was in the bus terminal in Scarborough. I realized I was surrounded by the new generation of 20 years old going to school. They mocked me saying being old and going back to school means you are dumb. Yes, I am. My parents fled Vietnam with high school education during the 200 year war with French, America, etc. My parents are the smartest bunch to teach their children advanced astrophysics and medicine.
- I went shopping in an Asian area in Scarborough. The established Asians knew what is up and how to live. Even though they looked South East Asian at baseline they kept their noses up and just did their thing. They pushed and did what they liked all the time. They had a baseline to work, live and enjoy what they have in life, especially in Canada where work and education are given out plenty. OSAP, loans and funding and grants are readily available.
- I was waiting to talk to the nurse advisor to see if my documents were in check waiting outside for 1.5 hours. I was surround by the Asians in Scarborough and realized I don’t look mixed like the other Asians that have good mixtures. I told myself and laughed at myself that all I can do in this world is study even in Scarborough where there is multiculturalism. LOLOLOLOLOL!
- I went to the most diverse fast food restaurant in the World in Scarborough: Jollibee and I found out that the people there look at me like I am just a normal SEA born in Canada. LOLOLOL! I guess I got to study for the rest of my life! LOLOLOLOL!
