The ‘Circle’

I finally understood the circle of life in Scarborough when I did college at Morningside Campus at Centennial College.

I am entangled in 3 groups in Scarborough but also in life.

I am a Dalit to the Brown people (Persia to South Asians). Persians to South Asians think I am dumb as they have harder lives generally if born here in Canada and also I act and am like a monkey to them.

The problem lies with Chinese and Filipinos.

Thai, Laos and Cambodian leave me out of the frame of view. They don’t even consider me in their daily lives.

I don’t exist to them. Thai, Laos and Cambodian are more Western and White compared to me and run their businesses and lives with White people.

Chinese are secretly covert.

The Filipinos are both: Covert and ‘White appearing’.

Since I am IT Viet Kid from the 90s published in a Toronto newspaper and not a fluke (I do like troubleshooting PCs) and am an early beginner software developer Debloater guy from 2020 now, I am pretty good offering as a cut of nice pork chop including the rest of my family. My family is a nice tray of pork chops that would be great married into a family of Chinese or Filipinos.

Chinese and Filipinos love a nice rack of pork chops from Canada under 50 years old (aged fine). Still child bearing quality and from a white area like Durham Region.

Add some maple honey garlic BBQ and some garlic black bean sauce and you having a nice life married into our family. We also have a nice family business too.

Frilly and no frills attitude.

We still shop discount after 46 years in Canada.

But the Vietnamese hate living in Canada as we don’t have the power and stronghold like the Chinese and Filipinos and the Whites maybe. This is my opinion from living outside the Toronto Vietnamese group and Toronto in general.

We are Zen people and sometimes hate being Vietnamese as we get bombed every 50 to 100 years too get wrecked.

We are junction people and complain all day, everyday.

So we rather date other races when we are young as the 2nd generation were taught by the Chinese, White and Filipinos growing up we don’t matter. AND don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. We are not polarized people as we are a mixed race and junction people.

Therefore we learn from others and are always trying to be busy OR COMPLAIN all day.

But then I realize we must stay at home and build our brains. Just learn the stuff we like all day and cultivate ourselves.

This is fucken CANADA. Canada gives us enough diapers and clean clothes to work and study all day …

The smart proud Vietnamese understand where they come from by studying history from their proud parents and family and sometimes in Canadian schools. They have it all if they know their history as it is not really wrecked every 50 to 100 years. They went and found the the history or their family is involved in the talks spanning centuries.

I, David, should study Vietnamese history like in school??? Learning about it online sucks …

So that is the lesson. Take courses in Asian history.

The immigrants Vietnamese from Vietnam soar high as they are proud Vietnamese (born in Vietnam) and at least get a CPA Accountant degree to afford a house and nice car and pop out a kid or two. That is the goal of Vietnamese from Vietnam. A real practical goal is to ‘learn business’ (make money) and become the high rolling CPA doing the filings and taxes of big businesses in the area or Toronto for multinationals or the government. Even 2nd generations do that too. Or even ones that came here 15 years ago. The focus is on business. MONEY!

For some dumb reason my brother and I did stuff.

55+ year old Asians from Scarborough that lived through the railway era of Canada understand and accept us walking through the old parts of Scarborough eating takeout and buying roast BBQ pork.

But my brother is not ready to marry and have a kid and live on his own with a wife. He is playing the ‘white-Oshawa’ card and becoming and entertainer for the masses and World. Well whoever will watch his content and it is great. A lot of people envy William and his ‘get-go’ of mixing all the movies and entertainment he consumed since birth and uses it to build his own content. I think even white-Americans and white-Europeans from Europe are like WTF is this and it is good. Chinese like it too and try to copy him and his thinking. But the cool thing is that William doesn’t give up and tries harder to entertain and tries new ways of entertaining. No losing spirit or getting angry. He has a low body count.

But what does that do to the family and David.

David is both East and West in Canada and the Old World programming the foundation of the family in structure and maths. He got most of the infrastructure from Tammy Nguyen since 2021. He learned to think and build the Chinese way from Tammy Nguyen. And in turn socialized with his immediate family to rethink and reshape their minds to be independent thinkers a lot and a bit.

David actually retired in 2020 and is flustered as when he goes out in public, fans and competitors compare him to them and he loses as he was a one-hit wonder mostly.

You can not really improve on the formula/recipe of this software he made in 2020. It is original but people come left and right telling him the software isn’t anything special after 6 years and that they could program it themselves.

That is all outside fans and competitors say. They say they could have done the same software all day and even more.

David doesn’t want to reply to them and acknowledge them as in reality of man on this earth, inventions like this is new and a one time thing …

David had to be a Dalit of the Dalits, old with 60K in debt from school and credit cards then to build this unique software product. Fans and competitors don’t agree as life should be miraculous and is about trying hard all the time … to get same results or more. Anything is possible.

So David is left in a limbo with his fans and competitors try to size him up everywhere he goes since like the last 2 – 3 years. So that is why he doesn’t carry a cell phone around so people don’t track him.

The software got so good as now it is an educational software with all language support that also a debloater.

Now people are irate and study a number of things to compensate. They even study more years of engineering and historic engineering to combat him when he stands at the grocery store or on a bench to catch the school bus home.

They hate seeing a Vietnamese origin guy have it. That is all it is.

They even say his project is simple 1-layer software with no depth and his entire projects are now seen as a simple nothing to do type of applications. Compared to spaceship software.

He no longer has merit as of Fall 2026. They force their beliefs that his work is nothing now.

Then counter.

He writes software for fun and during his past time building software for Microsoft.

He is updating software that no one wants to do. The other programmers are building spaceship software to compensate.

He is old and actually knows how to build Microsoft Software that everyone kind of wants.

AND they realize it is a combination of things and he is unique. Also he is a millennial born in Durham.

Then David runs back to Oshawa and plays with his old group for sanity and the ‘whatever attitude’ Canadian way different compared to the new generation of people in Toronto that doesn’t consider his uniqueness and depth. But the East (Oshawa) eventually helps the West (Toronto) though trickle effect and that the Easterners starts new projects …

Everyone is served that Hainanese chicken at the end if David visits.
