HOW TO GET IT
I remember back in the 1990s shopping in Toronto on Spadina Avenue getting groceries that were staple for Vietnamese cuisine. And banh mis.
I sought out to get back there from Durham Region.
I made coming back to Toronto a mission to connect to ‘people’.

So basically in my family, my brother and older sister treat me Asian while they are Western: 50 : 50. My parents are at the top teaching their kids who are Asian in Durham Region. It is just split that way for flow and functionality of the normal family unit. Top half is forward while the the bottom half are passive and supportive. Common psychology and sociology for just daily living as a family.
So because of this dynamic, I sought out things that are Vietnamese and Asian all my life. To prove that being Asian oriented has merit.

So to do stuff in the world you need to figure out which side you are on: West or East.
I can only speak for East. I even sought out other Eastern people like Tony Tie and Tammy Nguyen. In 2026, Tammy Nguyen is currently in Montreal right now so she is become more Western and French-Canadian but she is originally from Toronto. So she is exploring the Western front.

But the second thing you need to understand is growth.
People think growth is normal and is just going to school and getting a job.
But growth for bottom feeders in society like myself as a full South Vietnamese is computing.

Since like 2000s, Vietnamese on mainstream media just accompanied and played with North American Westerners. They played the support and even the spouse giving babies.
But since 2000s what has happened? … different forms of social media and now people are always connected to the Internet for the latest gossip news.
Region and locality do not matter no more. Everyone is a Californian soaking up the sun.
Is that good? Yes and no.

Therefore you got to build, build whatever you like with code to enable different thinking and ways of self-expression and survival.
Not dancing to an algorithm that makes everyone crazy and depleted for more and more.

I got 2 negatives: 1. Full South Vietnamese, 2. First Peoples of Canada mainly raised in the poor part of Ajax, Ontario.
With 2 negatives -> coding to build positivity. 2 negatives make it right.

Basically coding you are building positivity.
Code = Positive.
If you want to grow positive as a Vietnamese or some other ethnicity, just code what bothers you and what makes you want to get up each day.
Any other topic is kind of negative.

As a bottom feeder, every act I do in North America takes account others but is negative according to ‘the people’.
The range taking account everyone makes Vietnamese the ‘bad guy’. Just existing is bad in North America. That is just the way things are in North America.
I got fired from jobs because some groups when isolated in their old culture see me in the negative space and must let me go according to their old culture and old mindset.
So to counter, you do coding.
Or group up doing staple Vietnamese jobs …

- Do your passions
- Work with allies in the Old World. What nationality in the Old World gets along with Vietnamese? You can easily Google this.
Then you get unique works out of the trial and error and practice in this climate.
