Computer Programming to Parents

My dad and mom expect me to work ‘a real’ job.

They say the software I created over a lifetime is just something they could do. And in the real world you need a career and love. Or working a career in the real world, talking and making network connections.

My ‘hobby’ software is not enough?

I live in my room 23/7 for the last 7 years waiting for Microsoft to release their unexpected updates to adapt to and my parents says that is normal for them. Go outside and work at a supermarket or even as a grade school tutor in tutoring centres at least to bring home money, self-esteem and face for the family. My stuff is terrible living they say.

Thank you the people in USA and West for bombing Vietnam more than WWII and destroying all the schools and stopping school. Because of bombing, some napalm and a bit of Agent Orange, software looks easy for my parents. They scream at me daily to get a real job and live outside the home while my significant other is an Instagram Influencer making cash/bank. I am a bum living with mom and dad typing and coding preschool love stories and apps. The French helped a lot too!

Software is so easy as it is easier than working outside 9 – 5 my parents think. They think I am making another Microsoft Word or Google Docs with some cheap addons?

My parents think I am copying others and just changing a few things and making a copy of some kind of accounting software for taxes for the world.

I am blessed to have the my parents. They are in good health kind of.

They are not proud of me.

They just barely finished high school.

PEACE!!!

Wars are great for making your parents push you over the limit and scream of joy!

…

I did gaming tweaking software.

I did optimizers and fixes

I did debloaters.

Regardless, of any of them … I would arrive at the same problem with my parents.

…

They say becoming a medical professional is the right stuff … It is ..

But don’t medical professionals need to evaluate and learn from people who build eccentric things? and label those people ABCD1234xA2 ? categorize, chart and give them medical advice once their BMI is through the roof?

…

Basically my mom says … in 5 – 10 years she will no longer be here and I need the life experience and skills and friends to live strong and steady. I am not thinking like her and dad. I need to stand on my own two feet in the real world. Strong and confident.

OK I will … I will try my best mom and dad. I know you are in your late 70s and there are other Vietnamese Boat People families that have it better. You are ashamed of your sons doing new creative computer media.

William is doing AI shorts at: https://www.youtube.com/@justphophun/shorts and trying to live his creative dreams in the West and become a Western man and entertainer.

While David does his coding and other small things also supporting his brother and vice versa … Sorry father and mother and my bloodline for I have failed. I will get back up one day …

Thank you Canada for allowing us the supports and businesses we run.

…

Lesson: Nothing is never enough. As you age and age, you need more really.

Lesson 2: My father and mother say they understand software engineering and my work is just a pastime hobby.
