David in First World

Always, always, always there is this mix of immigrant thinking and born citizen thinking.

…

2nd Generation Vietnamese born in Canada think they either got to move-it, move-it OR take their sweet time if they understand the culture of Westerners.

I did both kind of.

I just learned 3 problems:

  1. Winter 2009 I realized I did not do my ‘alone passions’ ‘alone’. I saw a guy develop 3D print his timed pipette machine in Chemistry
  2. I did not learn computer programming in grade 7. No one really helps you in life. Programming requires help from a teacher I think to understand complex cases. I tried studying it in Scarborough as a young adult but then realized life is also cultural and racial there. I should of studied computer in Fleming College in Peterborough as white-Canadians would feel sorry for me in college.
  3. I thought life was fun and take your time. Not really. I did not realize how old I was until 35. But really I was struggling in life because I went to school in Scarborough first where people can have more relaxing time and life is about general things and multiculturalism for some if you want. Life in Oshawa towards Cobourg is work, work, work. But in Toronto, it is up to you to decide how your life goes. The tempo of Oshawa makes you move.

But overall as a Vietnamese born in Canada … life can go backwards or forward if you think Western or coloured.

That is the problem of living in GTA.

Multiculturalism is what moves people but also stops people and makes trouble through misunderstanding.

That is why psychology is hard for me and God stopped me from studying Psychology in Scarborough.

Psychology depends on culture. That means you have to understand the world.

Anyways I live in Oshawa and make stuff with my family and friends in my subculture of Vietnamese-Canadian in the GTA.
