The ways to live:
In Canada, Ontario, what Ben Cybulski said to me is to do his decades long projects, North American (Canadian) products.
I would stay in my study and step-by-step build, learn, grow and network from my location.
Positives of this are:
- I learn and learn and learn until I am 150+ years old with good amount of coffee and tea
- My life becomes Western (Ontarian)
- I live like computer pioneers in the 1960s-1970s when computers started flourishing in the Americas
What does this do to help a Vietnamese guy like me when looking at the negative end?
- I am a dark forgotten member of society as I am full Southern Vietnamese in the West if you look negative and coloured. Front facing the West, I am invisible so I might I as well do computing as a Southeast Asian as that is what is kind of expected for invisible people in the West. It is no big deal. Vietnamese network accepts me. ‘Canadians’ feel sorry for me and socialize with me and provide me a ‘full life’ of work to keep me positive and growing.
…
Ben and Allan got me going …
Instead of thinking stereotypically like a 12 years old they told me to strive …
…
I believe Ben and Allan come also from junction countries in the way past. Junction helps junction.
…
My older sister works a regular routine job. Everyday is the same with the same complaints and same bad expectations in life … This is what happens when you work normally in Canada. Same pie everyday unless someone in your family reaches and teaches …
…
When I finally ‘built structure’ with my friends and being good then people started to complain … But God helped me.
Then I realize how messed up people think.
My cousins on my mother’s side makes sense. The oldest cousins and family members take charge and teach the younger cousins to strive until there is nothing left … run on fumes …
On my father’s side it is weird.
I am basically the oldest but no one taught me how traditional Vietnamese families work really. You have to go out there explore, work and make friends and connections … then you see.
I am supposed to lead with my older brother taking first place on my father’s side. But my younger cousins on my father’s side in Vietnam kind of pick on me while I am always losing the battle over here in the West trying to run on tangents all day trying to impress, learn and collaborate with my seniors … I guess that is what it is …
Does my older cousins on my mother’s side feel this way too when I complain and pick on them??? My older cousins from uncle #4 taught me all I needed to know in 2015 anh Bu and anh Loc: “Life is depressing. Life is a doghouse. Keep going. You don’t want to be 50+ years old acting like a 18 years old. Life as a Vietnamese sucks generally outside. You have to learn and become a professional to have that piece of sanity. Keep going until the wheels fall off.”
Also my cousins in Vietnam kind of know and kind of don’t know how hard it is to live in Canada/West through their connections and family and friends overseas.
I live in the snow and cold. When the temperature is so cold you have to force yourself to migrate from the tropical thinking of a natural South Vietnamese to a cold living Northern Westerner. You literally have to force yourself to evolve/mutate to a cold dweller. That takes decades. I like to run on the beach and surf, I like to farm on the rice patties, I like to grow Thai chilis, I like to pick mangoes and other fruit. I like to bathe in the tropical sun while drinking my third glass of iced tea. I can not do that here in Canada. I have to force myself to mutate. It is kind of agonizing but …
If you try hard and you get something … at least keep trying and keeping busy … the stress and work makes it feel good. Do you see where I am getting at? ‘Working productive stress is good’ … That is how to change and evolve???
…
I have a serious problem and questions about likes and dislikes.
I like to build system tools all day and kind of more.
If a person just like ‘scripting’ all day will he change to only program when he finds out programming is more ‘different and open’? I think yes.
You will push yourself to program as that is the standard to build, build.
The end product is different though. You can still have a combination of scripting and programming in the end product. So you do both. Programming helps with scripting and scripting helps with programming.
…
I should travel more …
I have this question as I don’t really socialize enough throughout Canada. I socialize online more and more with the Old World. I socialize with old people and my range.
When I was in college studying the last course, I was met with other nationalities in the classroom.
Did I need to socialize and acknowledge other nationalities? Yes, I think.
But some nationalities have a caste hierarchical system that prevents people from thinking if they are lower in the world. Well stops them from thinking at first. After the dust has settled and it is man-to-man then things go forward.
It was nice to see other Asians and Africans in the classroom. I did see them and acknowledge them …
BUT …
I live in ‘GM country’ and born in it.
The coloured people including me and how coloured people think and the way I naturally think is just a object and placeholder of ideas and thoughts and of a person … We have to move forward with the ideas and knowledge and ‘create cars’.
…
The small problem of college and university in person, I am one of the oldest farts around in college back in 2023. I was 39 years old in 2023 while the student population at a college is at around 20 range.
The Western media targets people from the age of 12-29. Even products sold in Walmart and Costco target that age.
If you are old and wise (naturally you get old and wise by routinely walking to your local supermarket and buying oranges and dropping by the local burger shop) you realize the media and the schools want people to think 59 years old is the new 29 keeping people stupid and spending money on crap. They keep people fighting and thinking small. But this has changed recently …
So when I went back to school in 2023, I was on the defensive as I was old as Stonehenge.
It is nice to see young people and teachers, but seriously … I am 39 years old … you can not really press buttons as I am just an old fart. I am a child of Vietnamese Boat People who still isn’t married with no kids … My trajectory is way off on a tangent inside myself and being in school forces all the students to naturally act like they are in grade 9 with stereotypical pre-teen thinking.
That is why it is sometimes better to be homeschooled, privately school or study on your own. But everyone needs exposure to the real world which is ‘high school drama’.
…
What happened.
My family is full South Vietnamese. That means I am able to:
- Be born in Durham Region like Oshawa
- Work with Oshawa people as they don’t mind me and they actually feel sorry for me
…
My parents did not sponsor my cousins over but they should of because they are full South Vietnamese that can live and work in Durham Region.
My uncles and aunts and cousins did not want to go for some reason. Now they understand that they should have went. Life in Vietnam isn’t good until 2045-2060 I think …
My dad said life was so hard here in the West and for some reason that scared them off. But if they came here they would turn into Oshawian people and just live life like an Oshawian and that is all.
Now are they going to immigrate now?
They will at least have the Vietnamese network here in North America and can network to the Old World like me. This is like 120% forward and good in thinking, -10% otherwise missing the sun and Old World.
They can become like me 🙂
Do they want to become like us?
…
But I needed them in the beginning … so everything was 50:50 and graduated learning and then exposure to the New World dynamics.
…
Next time we talk about the Old World.
…
Once you have ‘built structure’ then you can talk about this …
- The concept of ‘Tangents’
I will explain the problem. In society especially in medicine there is the caste system at play in the Americas. The European one isn’t so bad but the Asian one is terrible.
In Asia the frequency is ‘me and only me’, until the Asian learns and grows from European thinking.
That is why I live in Oshawa because I am Buddhist and there is no levels that cause inequality in dealing and teaching people.
Because I met the caste system at play in medicine I dropped out. I did computers.
Computers are logical. It is 1:1. Caste system doesn’t really work in computer thinking. It is either you get it or not.
I did computers and got something. I gained something.
As long as I do programming I gain bit-by-bit.
But to work doing web development and do world projects at top computer companies requires competition and sometimes that involves castes.
Therefore, you go on tangents to avoid caste work. BUT in another way … you live like an North American and just do your own thing.
When you do your own thing. It is your own thing really.
For example, Dmitry Nefedov from Russia is very passionate about Windows and Microsoft services.
He holds an IT job and also does his Sophia projects …
But the key thing is that it is him and also where he is from. He is an IT guy with a passion for computers and from Russia where it is cold down to -40 Celsius.
It is the combination of raw likes and talent and probably where his from a bit.
Like I am passionate about computers, software utilities.
But I can not compete with others in the West for programming jobs as I have different thinking naturally. Mostly because I am Canadian born. I think as a Native Canadian a bit. I think like a Oshawa guy and a Ajax guy. Go with the flow kind of instead of competing.
But at the end tangents (doing your own thing) gets you something new and different at the end. You don’t notice it at first. Your idea might be similar to others or found 70 years ago. But if you refactor 100x and add features to our projects and team projects for many years you might have something new.
