I have friends of the family asking me for advice on life in the West …

What do I know???

I guess these questions are important to understand immigrants to the West are looking for help on jobs, money, location, education for their children to succeed.

That makes me think of my future children.

What do I need to do for work to provide for all the wants and needs of my family one day.

After doing stuff this far … you realize it is just logic. Nothing is really that fancy or out of place.

I am glad I got to this point where things are laxed and thing are just …

Maturing to a point where things used to be really cool but now are just maybe logic ???

It is important to think logical to a point where things are normalized I think. This way people are OK.

You realize this … after finally socializing with Vietnamese born in Canada for 5-6 years, you have this bond but everyone is busy doing their thing really.

I thought socializing with Vietnamese from Canada was very special thing for me. It was and still is. But now after socializing I realize people are in their own world. I learned enough that I have to live for myself now too.

I built the bonds and now have to work and develop with that and further.

Finally live like everybody else. Everyone is one their own path trying to get a meal and house.

The thing about long term goals …

I wrote a page about goals: https://firstgenprogrammer.com/short-term-midterm-long-term-projects-for-life/

It is important for your life and mine to plot out a plan that will take more than 1 lifetime to achieve. To have a goal that is more than impossible to achieve makes everyone aim high and gets the point of life in the West. Which is to keep marching and trying to achieve the impossible.

I finally learned this when people asked me for guidance. As long as we set our hopes sky high life is good. Life is good for everyone.

That is what happens 50 years after the war. People either just work or mature to a point where life is modern like Westerners. Goals and direction are set so high that everyone is busy and happy and maybe slightly stressed.

Having people ask for guidance is the whole point …

Learning logic like coding is addictive and growth addictive. The growth you get from coding is addictive. Learning complex structures is addictive. But only through coding …

Learning everyday things is OK but it became bad sometimes. Especially if you are Vietnamese in the system as you are expected to be passive and regurgitate information sometimes. No one really expects much from me.

The tipping point, I have people wanting to learn what I just did. Learn what I like to do normally. That changes everything. Now I have students want to understand the path.
