What is the trick to living good out here in Canada and East GTA?
- Have a lot of accomplishments to fall back on. As a new immigrant to Canada, we may have unique experiences and solutions and perspectives that can give new light. Just by doing your thing, you will have positive results one day.
- Always keep busy somehow. When you are young you might feel hesitant to push forward because you think you might disrupt or disturb others. But when you finally get old in your 35+, you realize you just have to be open and forward like Westerners to live with positivity and growth for the rest of your life. Being born in Canada you might become very hesitant and fallback. But the old ‘Canadians’ see your pursuits like a nice thing. It is different and a nice addition so keep going to try to do something nice and different and for yourself for growth.

It is important for 20 years old Vietnamese born in the West to explore and explore while they are young below 35 years old. When they get 35+ and they look ‘old’ then everyone changes to work on themselves.
This applies to everyone really. When you lose your ‘youthfulness’ then you just turn wise and mature and start staying home reading books.
Some people try to preserve and get their youth. It doesn’t work for a Southern Vietnamese from An Giang like me though. I had to work and work and build up.
I guess it depends on the person.
…
There is the leveler ‘man-to-man’ but that doesn’t work really when there is class structure in the West/World since 1600 AD.
So as a Southern Vietnamese and as a person when you get older, you might as well push and see what can life bring.
Otherwise there is no point to anything really???
Old ‘Canadians’ don’t care what you do.

Life is never perfect.
You keep doing stuff.
Maybe do more.
Do things better.
But it is never right and good fully.
I guess I had to do this many stuff to realize this now.
Just do stuff and whatever …
…
There is a lot of Vietnamese outside that understand and support me. I am so old at 41 years old and just walking down the 2nd part of life …
…
Life in Canada …
What do you do now for me at this point?
Got to decide now. I feel I have gotten to the far limit.
I hit a point where things are new, new.
Time to reconsider things.
…
Things that kept me healthy …
- Doing my dream of developing system utility software
- Keep working on developing more bigger different utility software with Ben and Dmitry
- Refactoring
- Refactoring to a point where you realize the people that create the tools is ‘the life’. Creating solutions is OK but after you are done creating your dream … move onto developing tools for that long lifespan of work and growth. It is all about developing the hardware and software tools at this point. This is where you want to be at the end. This is gradual and intuitive as you progress.

Life gets to a point where you are just an old guy looking down. People just see an old guy really. Some people might be biased still but you past 99.9999% of racist acts by now being old and life experienced.
The funny thing is when you see ‘professionals’ being racist. At that point you have seen everything.
You are just casually living in safe Canada … then you see this. I guess it is normal and expected.
