Updates (August 14, 2025)

I finally grew up and made friends with Vietnamese in Vietnam living and working in Vietnam who are older in my range.

I finally have a brain that understands ‘the life in Vietnam’.

I made friends with bankers and instructors around my age.

Now I get it life on both sides of the world. From finance and education.

I guess life was to grow and grow and grow and grow and grow and grow and grow … repeat X millions times.

That is why it is important to grow until your mind wraps around the world. Don’t stop thinking in your 20s.

I used to think life only on this side of the world of the West and how elites and Hollywood portrayed life too.

Now I understand the smart layered decisions people make all around the world including my homeland.

Now I understand why some people think the way they do too. From 20s – 40s.

That is the secret to understanding yourself as a Vietnamese man born in Canada. It is understanding how people your age range live and work in Vietnam and have a complete life there.

You understand how they cope living in Vietnam. What decisions they make to get the best life possible living there. What future decisions they make and how to maintain a life regardless of X or Y.

My main problem with me is that I arrived at simple negative conclusions.

When I was young I thought people decided quickly and firmly.

But because I was born and grew up in Canada, I knew that wasn’t true.

People living homeless can sometimes turn their life around.

People get lucky and have good fortune.

People can take the best parts of living in Canada and make good use out of it.

Also living positive and good will rectify all negativity and bad choices … more on this later …

But there is a limit sometimes??? You have to make a decision that will determine your future.

I got stereotyped so badly recently and had to reflect …

What happens afterwards? After the name calling what happens?

What do ‘lower levels of society’ do?

They just work and live normally shopping at discount grocery stores and then people all think high level and the same afterwards.

What happens in the West then?

Everyone has all the luxuries and support here in Canada. Everyone has the same as everyone else …

After being stereotyped so badly, then the only thing you think about is ‘up there’. There is nothing left to think about after seeing people being stereotyped badly.

Nothing makes sense at that point and now you have seen it all and reflected and risen.

That is also the point of living and being in Canada. It gets to a point where you are thinking ‘up there’.

I guess I had to grow up and accomplish stuff to finally see this level where I am just thinking ‘up there’ most of the day.

If you don’t think that way, they you go no where and get sick.

I used to think negative back in 2016 …

It all changed when I took the chance to do my dream … It was a combination of school and my thing.

Nothing is 100% school and nothing is 100% adventure on your own.

You need to do this and that and overtime get something.

Coding is a different lifestyle and you see the world different. Please try it out. Keep trying until it is mild stress instead of stress, stress. Took me from grade 11 in 2000 to 2025 to find it mildly stressful in the things I do.

You can not explain the lifestyle and mindset of coding until the person actually does it for decades.

Otherwise is it clash of thinking, emotion over mindset.

Why I don’t socialize with Vietnamese from Vietnam or immigrants?

Immigrants usually think 1-2 angles. It is usually about their perspective.

Their perspective is usually low in dimension unless they have stayed and worked in the country for 3 years. Have to work at least 40 hours a week for 3 years. No really part time work. You have to understand the stress of working full time otherwise it is pointless talking.

When they realize there are more than 1 voice and that you can not think cultural really then I take the chance to talk to them.

All new innovations and solutions usually take into account the varied perspectives of all peoples of Canada to work.

New/old products or services can not simply target one demographic. If it does it usually is not fun or productive. It has to be productive and fun.

Even immigrants after 20 years in the country strive and want better things. It is a human need to want new and better especially living in the climate like North America. The location matters a lot and it is not cultural. One’s individual culture won’t override the location over time. North America is meant to be varied.

People realize this overtime. It is just a matter of time when immigrants fold and change a bit. The location changes you.
