Finding Love and Marriage as a Vietnamese Guy born in Durham Region

Your dad is a farmer and teacher born in Mương Ranh

Your mom comes from a high status society in Mương Trâu.

Both are ‘Nguyen’ so they feel similar … They actually love each other.

Been together for 46+ years. Both almost died during the journey to Canada.

…

David worked and worked and played and played … He was born in Canada. Brat!

…

He grew up in Ajax daydreaming all day to become a MD.

…

But when he went to Scarborough for university everything changed.

He learned about multiculturalism of the mass Chinese and mas South Asian communities and changed cultures from Ajaxian to Scarboroughian.

That is the change that never left him.

But he naturally fell comfortable with Scarborough.

He knew he wanted a wife from the Toronto area.

…

The first 2 years of university, he could not find anyone.

He was unhappy with school and the culture of school and went to work to Vietnam to understand what life meant. Then came back and worked in Ajax real jobs. Then came back to Scarborough school in a 2-year period.

Life became about finishing school and living for immediate family mostly both here and back in Vietnam. Family is all I got really …

Back in Scarborough, he realized meeting Vietnamese students, he was slightly older but stunted. Growing up in Ajax and Durham he was second-class and played all day … stupid and stunted. So he worked on himself after socializing with Vietnamese women going to school in Scarborough. He could only converse for 5 – 7 minutes at a time with Vietnamese women going to school in Scarborough.

He felt weak … Them Vietnamese women at UTSC got big brains …

He knew he had to be a man and work for decade(s). He finished school and left knowing ‘the way’ was to be book-heavy headed in learning and research and have a backbone and passions to court a Vietnamese-Canadian woman.

Come back to UofT in the Social Media era.

Jumped on Discord VSA.

Wow, the students now are crabby and unwilling to think beyond online events. Everything and socializing is mainly a multiplayer online game.

Explain myself as a 37 years old.

Find out love and life is based on compatibility more than work or money for Vietnamese-Canadian women.

Dating other races requires you to be a high-end professional sometimes working 60 – 80+ hours a week or no fun … Because I am a dirty Dalit … I have to work hard for others. Social class and structure … ughhh …

Regardless, Vietnamese people here or there, have a huge backbone and fight and are willing to study and work as hard like anyone else. Or at least do their passions.

So life and love is your personal like and dislikes and level, work is work. No one really cares about if you have a fantastic job or good income if you are mature and know the know. Half of the students don’t care to live lazily on supports eating close to expiry cardboard pizza from the freezer section at discount stores. The government helps us Canadians bear life living against the crazy hard working immigrants, just like everyone else in Canada.

Life is weird for Vietnamese-Canadians. Nothing makes sense and work is work ??? … Sometimes you learn later in life and get good work you love but when you are at 20 years old 2nd year university, school is WTF!

Maybe stunted and playing all day then 15 years down the road realize life is super hard. Or you know what you want early.

Talk to Tammy Nguyen as she gave me a heart emoji on Discord and invited me on UTSC Discord VSA enthusiastically!

We message for hours.

We figure out we are similar social class back in Vietnam. Similar to my mom side.

She is really mixed person. I am mixed too.

How to impress Vietnamese women born in Canada was the thing he had to do no matter what. That is all it is.

Vietnamese-Canadian women are a new culture in Canada and he had to build. That is all. New immigrant group in new environment.

I had to perform elaborate courtship dances to entice a female and demonstrate my physical health, coordination, and genetic fitness.

Got to work it! For health and mental stability! Work for mental stability in this circus! In my own world with the Vietnamese-Canadian women. They are so hard to please in my view when I am a Vietnamese-Canadian too!
