Vietnamese have only been in the West in mass numbers for about 50 years.
In 2020, is when I finally grew up after finally settling down at 35 years old.
In Vietnam, most of my younger cousins are already married and some have kids. Most of the time 2-5 years after working they have kids. They mostly meet their spouse during that time.
Therefore the culture and location you grow up in significantly changes your life trajectory compared to others.
It is hard to say to Canadians that because you are 2nd generation Vietnamese Canadian you have to hurry up and get married and have kids.
Most Canadians are free minded and have kids when they feel its right or even withhold it based on circumstances that may be so unique.
Canadians have their own culture together here in Canada that it is hard to explain. Canadians kind of just do what they want. I am not 100% sure. More on this later. This is a very important topic on why Canadians do this or that.

How has the Vietnamese culture shaped me?
It is hard to explain as I have been to Vietnam 6 times to shape my thinking permanently.
