How all this came into play.
In 2016, I decided to go back to school at my local college here in Oshawa. I learned enough about the world and now with my life experiences at the age of 33 I think my brain can finally do computer programming. I was working 3 jobs and finally was smart enough hopefully.
Basically, I did not have enough life experiences before like socializing and working because of whatever reasons (I was prevented from studying and participating when I was young because newcomers coming to Canada get garbage to eat).
But as people age they stop caring who is smarter and who needs this and that. They need workers at the end … It is an age and maturity thing.
My dream was to find a girlfriend who was smart and pretty like every guy wants in the world. And also from my origin nationality because I am scared of the people here in Canada …
Realized there are Vietnamese from Vietnam studying at my college and university.
Made friends with Viktor Bastion Phan who is the middle man / connector of the social Vietnamese groups.
Realized he acted like me.
Viktor formed a Facebook student association group in Oshawa, people joined. Then I met the Vietnamese from Vietnam who are brilliant beyond compare.
The ones studying hard sciences floored me.
The ones studying computers floored me.
I realized 40 years after the Vietnam War, most Vietnamese from Vietnam are connected to all media with YouTube and Google. Everyone is smart and connected.
Then I saw the Vietnamese studying computer science at the university and was astonished.
I was here studying 2 – 3 courses at college while the Vietnamese from Vietnam were studying full course loads.
Then I realized while socializing with them, I was missing a part of my soul and thinking that was ‘Vietnamese’.
I quickly tried to socialize and learn as much as I could from Vietnamese from Vietnam and peaked.
I told them what happened to me on Facebook. They realized I lived like a pawn and slave for most of my life but some realized I was slowly enjoying myself studying slowly mainly.
But they did not realize outside groups are racist to us Vietnamese and don’t want us working among the established groups as they think we are a waste according to some groups. Some groups think Vietnamese are a waste of space. Even 2nd generation Vietnamese are not worthy of their time and energy.
Basically there is this hierarchy where anyone closer in blood and proximity to America or UK are seen human and worthy of your time.
Anyways when I told them I finally learned how to think Vietnamese they did not really understand the magnitude of it.
The ones studying some kind of engineering kind of understood.
Studying this long and this much was a sign of proving oneself.
But computer science students are too busy really to learn and do more as they have to study 125+ systems designs and incorporate AI into everything.
I learned from the computer science students that computing is unlimited. You will learn forever with no end or landing.
In 2020, develop the Windows 10 Debloater after 37 years on the planet as a symbol of everything. It was thanks and appreciation mainly to the Vietnamese who helped me think and be and do positive stuff.
There is misery and despair of my natural Vietnamese-Canadian thinking in me that kind of helps but mostly whining and complaining. I had a feeling if I wrote (blogged) and did stuff things would be ‘whatever’, I am not sure. But I blogged because I was astonished knowing Vietnamese from Vietnam exist doing impossible stuff like computer sciences separate from my perspective and misery.
But overtime, I branched out because Vietnamese from Vietnam still don’t understand me and my dilemma of being kicked out job opportunities and social groups here in Canada. Newcomers from 1975 are not really wanted here in Canada unless they do service jobs. So I had to connect and build the 2nd generation Vietnamese network in Toronto by brain dumping and experience dumping as a 37 years old man without a family or career of his own yet from Oshawa who has had a midlife crisis when he was 35.
Now things are good. Vietnamese young and old understand the dilemma of their lives here in North America is 120% skill logic based and doing your own thing in ‘supportive’ First World Canada. In other words, take out loans to study maths until you can swing and hit a home run.
Also show Vietnamese you have to connect with junction people like us to stay ongoing and positive. Polish people are junction people who have helped me and my family do all of this.
Also show the change of becoming First Peoples and it’s dynamic effect on everyday life.
…
The 3 faces are:
- Vietnamese from Vietnam studying computer science at my local university
- Me trying to maneuver around racism and my natural misery as a full South Vietnamese born in Canada
- Trying to build and represent. Connect with Vietnamese. Mostly 2nd gen Vietnamese in GTA.
